CD Soy la Candela, Edwin Bonilla "Soy la Candela" Edwin Bonilla

Edwin Bonilla, a versatile bandleader, composer and percussionist, plays timbale, conga, bongo, maracas, guiro, and clave. The track "Recordando las Descargas" is a Cuban descarga that will shake your dome, and light a fire under your feet. Jesús "el niño" Pérez (also on tres and flute) compliments the band with his baritone voice. This CD is smoke. If you want Salsa Dura & Son you’ll love it.
CD Soneando Trombone, Jimmy Bosch "Soneando Trombon" Jimmy Bosch

Puerto Rican virtuoso Jimmy Bosch is one of Latin music's "bosses of the trombone". He demonstrates the energy of his fiery talent on this CD while he reveals his roots, loves, and his passion. It has Salsa Dura and a modern interpretation of Bomba y Plena, the folkloric music of Puerto Rico. Jimmy is pushing ahead the fundamentals of Latin music with an all-star lineup of musicians.

CD Un Gran Día En El Barrio, Spanish Harlem Orchestra "Un Gran Día En El Barrio" Spanish Harlem Orchestra

It's "a great day in Harlem" when some of the most respected musicians of today together celebrate and pay tribute to those musicians whom inspired them. This is the story of Spanish Harlem, where a music revolution was born and where music history was created. Top musicians in this recording include Jimmy Sabater, Bobby Allende, Ray de la Paz, Oscar Hernandez, Frankie Vázquez and Herman Olivera.

"The Conga Kings"
The aptly named Conga Kings isn't a cutting contest; it's a celebration of good fellowship among three great percussionists from two generations. On board for this mind-boggling good set of son--the style that's found such acceptance thanks to the platinum Buena Vista Social Club album--are Candido, Patato Valdes, and Giovanni Hidalgo. The music's light but insistent touch is perfectly realized here, with the three men pushing the other players forward and weaving their lines through each other's contributions. Expertly sequenced to allow the group to shine at varied tempos, the album ends with "Conga Kings Grand Finale," a seven-minute-plus affirmation of the musicians' vast talents and great affinity for one another
"Then and Now" El Canario.

El Canario is mad about his salsa dancers, paying tribute again to many of the world's best. He never let's you down with his showcase. He sings as seasoned sonero with all the confidence and skill of a sonero mayor. The band also swings deliciously and hard never once letting up on the force of their playing. Salsa dancers worldwide, polish your shoes and show this world what swing on the dance floor is all about. Let the Son rule again without the presence of any green fatigues. This album has enough swing to cause tidal waves across the globe. The entire album swings hard!

"Across 110th Street" Spanish Harlem Orquestra

If you are tired of listening to the same soft salsa that is out there, then this is for you.
The musicians put together in this album are the top in their genre. The majority of the songs are covers.
Ruben is at his sonero best in this album. He does 4 tracks and nails every one of them. I have never heard Ruben phrase as well as he does in this one. You can really tell he has missed singing salsa and you must suspect that if there was money to be made in salsa he would go back to it. He is just spectacular in every song. Ruben even wrote the bonus track (which is a new composition) "tu te lo pierdes". Great all around!!!

"El Avion de la Salsa" Jimmy Bosch

This well produced hard salsa CD, features a who's who of musicians and singers.More focused than his previous releases, El Avión is a dancers dream, with hard driving rhythms that keep the partying going track after track. The opening title, "El Avión De La Salsa," is sure to be a dance club hit. Bosch, who composed all of the tracks here, has his perfectionist's touch all over this production. And, although he brings in some top drawer singers -- Ray De La Paz, Herman Olivera, Willie Torres, and Marco Bermudez, it is the remarkably polished newcomer, Rey Bayona, that Bosch has sing most of the material here.   Also with special guests Yomo Toro, George Delgado, Marc Quiñones, Bobby Allende, Alfredo De La Fé, Oscar Hernandez, Andy Gonzalez and Dave Valentin.

CD cover "Amigo Incondicional" "Amigo Incondicional" Cesar "Chico" Perez

This superb salsa release is from César "Chino" Pérez, the Venezuelan trombone player living Germany, but who recorded this project in Puerto Rico with some of the islands finest salsa musicians and singers. In Venezuela, Pérez was a member of Dimension Latina, Nati y Su Orquesta, Los Melódicos and Trabuco Venezolano. In 1992 he left to Europe to study at the Rotterdam Conservatory in Holland. On this project, his first as a solo artist, Pérez went to PR and brought in some salsa elite: Luis "Perico" Ortiz on trumpet, Eric Figueroa on piano (Batacumbele, Mulenze, Cano Estremera etc.), Bassist Pedro Pérez (Robero Roena, Tito Rojas, Ray Barreto etc.) and the singers Wichy Camacho, Simon Perez, and Javier Plaza. This is first class salsa: professional, polished, and without pretense or unnecessary pyrotechnics. Pérez lets the musicians
stretch.
