Luisito Carrion
SIN TU AMOR
(MP 6310)
Here's a guy that has made the musical
rounds with La Nativa, Concepto Latino, Salsa Fever, La Terrifica, Bobby
Valentin, Don Perigņon, and La Sonora Ponceņa. However, his induction into the
musical scene came about with his father's band, Orquesta Kafe. It was his
father who gave him his first opportunity to hone his skills as a vocalist. This
first opportunity came about when he was just thirteen years old. Twenty-five
years later he's still at it.
Luisito Carrion has been the voice behind many hits such as "Renta De
Amor" and "Seņores Ahi Va Julian" with Salsa Fever,
"El Agua", "El Seņor De Las Seņoras", "Ramos
De Flores", "El Gigolo", "Tributo A Cali"
and "Como Lo Hago Yo" with Bobby Valentin, "La
Fuga" with Don Perigņon, and "Yare" and "A
Comer Lechon" with La Sonora Ponceņa. With this latest release,
SIN TU AMOR, his third release as a soloist, he's on top of the charts once
again. "Para Ser Real" is the first track off the latest
release to hit the airwaves. If radio play in Puerto Rico is any indication of
how well he's doing, he better keep his bags packed because he's going to be
real busy performing all over. Already the work is coming in from Colombia,
Venezuela, and Europe. There is also a U.S. tour in the works.
SIN TU AMOR features Luisito on eight tracks of romance with a twist of
swing. The music of composers Poldo Castro, Aquiles Diaz and Pedro de Jesus
(this cat has been really busy lately) is brought to life by a very competent
group of musicians. This is Luisito's best effort to date. It's a CD that can be
thrown in your player and played in random mode without a worry of a bad track
coming on. It's simply that good.
For too long now you have been hearing Luisito singing coro for just about
everyone in the Salsa market. Now it's time to give him a listen as he takes
center stage with this latest release. SIN TU AMOR Luisito Carrion is
just another vocalist out there trying to get some attention. However, Luisito
is much more than that. So show him some love and make sure to put this one on
your CD shopping list. After all, it's well worth it.
