 Instructor's Forum!

Your Host, Champion Competitor, and Teacher of Teachers...

Ms. Jami D. Josephson

Hello...and Welcome to SalsaWeb's  Instructor’s Forum!  My name is Jami Josephson, and I am very honored to have been asked to run this forum by Salsaweb.

Let me tell you a little about myself – I was born in Pensacola, Florida in 1967 and have been dancing since I was a little girl.  I started teaching when I was 20.  I did a great deal of work in the Theatre in New York City, and trained with many famous Broadway choreographers. I then turned to Ballroom Dancing because I loved the feeling of partner dancing.

I started competing and placed 2nd in the country in American-Latin dancing.  Since Mambo was my favorite dance, I decided I wanted to be more involved with the street style and social aspect of Salsa/Mambo. I have since studied with over 100 instructors and coaches for the past several years and love the versatility of Salsa/Mambo throughout the world.

With all this training, I discovered one important fact.  Being a great dancer doesn't necessarily mean you're a great teacher! You've got to love to teach, as well as love to dance.  Finding this perfect combination is a rarity.

Since teaching people to dance has been my forte and love, I now teach all over the world!  What I hope to accomplish with this site is to be able to help you (the Teacher) in the teaching skills or (the Manager) in running a good dance studio.

My goal is to create a Forum where instructors and serious professionals can contribute, study, and learn from each other, in addition to finding valuable resources about their craft.

Please feel free to email me with your questions, comments, or experiences.  If you want to share, here is the place to do it!  And if I can't help you-I'm sure I'll know someone who can...

Happy Dancin' (and Happy Teaching!)
Sincerely,  Jami
